Based in Amsterdam since 1968, Mike Hayes started painting 20 years ago. As an autodidact his style has evolved and matured and he is continuously working to improve.
He has been aided in his aim through his friendship with Klaus Jürgen-Fischer, a retired Art Professor Mike met in France where he spends much of his time. Professor Fischer, an admirer of, and artist in the styles of, Da Vinci and Rembrandt, has given Mike many hours of personal tuition and advice.
Initialy Mike concentrated on portraits but these days, thanks to the influence of Professor Fischer, he has expanded his work into landscapes, real and fantasy. More recently he has started to experiment with abstracts.
All his work can be seen on his gallery at Mike's Gallery.
